Our colleague Sara Lombardi recently completed a three-month stay at the Research Center for Biomedical Engineering at City St George’s, University of London, where she collaborated with the team led by Prof. Panicos Kyriacou.
\nDuring this experience, Sara contributed to an innovative project dedicated to the study of vascular aging through non-invasive methodologies based on photoplethysmographic (PPG) signal analysis.
\nThis project combined the London lab’s expertise in developing advanced sensors and mechanical models of the cardiovascular system with the expertise in data analysis and machine learning gained in our group.
\nSara’s contribution focused specifically on processing and interpreting the collected data, applying machine learning techniques to extract meaningful physiological markers, with the goal of improving the understanding of age-related vascular changes.
\nThis collaboration represented a concrete example of synergy between experimental and computational approaches, and laid the foundation for future joint developments between the two research groups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
