{"id":2086,"date":"2025-04-24T16:47:09","date_gmt":"2025-04-24T14:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/viper.dinfo.unifi.it\/?p=2086"},"modified":"2025-04-24T16:47:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-24T14:47:09","slug":"international-collaboration-for-the-study-of-vascular-ageing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/viper.dinfo.unifi.it\/?p=2086","title":{"rendered":"International collaboration for the study of vascular ageing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our colleague Sara Lombardi recently completed a three-month stay at the Research Center for Biomedical Engineering at City St George&#8217;s, University of London, where she collaborated with the team led by Prof. Panicos Kyriacou.<br \/>\nDuring this experience, Sara contributed to an innovative project dedicated to the study of vascular aging through non-invasive methodologies based on photoplethysmographic (PPG) signal analysis.<br \/>\nThis project combined the London lab&#8217;s expertise in developing advanced sensors and mechanical models of the cardiovascular system with the expertise in data analysis and machine learning gained in our group.<br \/>\nSara&#8217;s contribution focused specifically on processing and interpreting the collected data, applying machine learning techniques to extract meaningful physiological markers, with the goal of improving the understanding of age-related vascular changes.<br \/>\nThis collaboration represented a concrete example of synergy between experimental and computational approaches, and laid the foundation for future joint developments between the two research groups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Our colleague Sara Lombardi recently completed a three-month stay at the Research Center for Biomedical Engineering at City St George&#8217;s, University of London, where she collaborated with the team led by Prof. Panicos Kyriacou.
